Here are some money facts that I have found interesting.

  • In 1980 there were 500,000 bankruptcies.
  • In 2004 there were 1.5 million bankruptcies.
  • More people will file for bankruptcy in 2006 than will graduate from college.
  • In 2006 the top New Year's resolution was not to lose weight! It was to get out of debt.
  • 92% of people filing bankruptcy come from the middle class.
  • One out of every 73 U.S. households filed for bankruptcy in the calendar year 2003.
  • 70% of people live from paycheck to paycheck with little or no savings.
  • Women working full-time still only made about 81% of the salary of their male counterparts.
  • 71% of Americans say that debt is making their home life unhappy.
  • Studies have found up to 93 different strands of bacteria live on the money we use daily.
  • Paper money is not made of paper. It is actually a mixture of linen and cotton.
