At certain times in our lives, money issues seem to overwhelm us. Everyone seems to offer ideas. Few of those ideas work for us. Our money issues are unique to us. We have to find what works in our lives. Many people say that money represents spiritual energy. Looking back throughout my life, I can see the money does seem to correlate with the flow of energy in my life. Suze Orman goes so far as to say when you significantly reduce or eliminate credit card debt you will lose weight!

Many people relate money with happiness. Studies have shown that there is no correlation between money and happiness after an income of $50,000 has been reached. Once your basic needs of food, clothing and shelter have been met, money becomes an emotional issue. We use things to fill an emotional void, much as we use food. Get to the bottom of your emotional spending and you may also conquer your emotional eating.

How do you do this? Look into your past and think about your relationship with money. As with most emotional issues, they can usually be traced back to childhood. Try to uncover your parent's relationship with money. What were the early messages you heard as a child? Their issues will probably be your issues. There will be recurring themes.
