What Makes a Good Friend?

I posted a wall chart titled "What is a Good Friend?" Friendship seems to be more important to girls than to boys. They also have different ideas about constitutes a good friend. Boys are more action oriented and want a buddy, someone to do something with. But girls seem to be more idealistic and want someone who will be loyal, true and caring. The following traits were listed by 6th grade middle school students. The traits have been divided into boy vs. girl to add interest!

BOYS:

  • A good friend sticks up for you and helps you when your in trouble. A good friend is nice to you.
  • A good friend will play game with you and tell codes and have fun with you. A good friend shares with you and bees nice.
  • A good friend is loyal to you.
  • A good friend is someone who never lies or spreads rumers.
  • A good friend will stick with you all the way.
  • They are there when you are in trouble to help you out.

    GIRLS:

  • A good friend is someone who don't lie and talk about you behind your back. And they are not 2 faced.
  • A friend is someone you can trust, count on, and will all ways be by your side.
  • A good friend is always there for you.
  • They don't lie or spread rumors about you.
  • A good friend is a person who never stop liking you.
  • To be able to trust your friend.
  • A good friend is caring.
  • A good friend will be with you thick and thin no matter what.
  • A good friend is someone you can tell things and can reli on. Someone who treats you good and is a good listener. That is always happy and in a good mood all the time.
  • A good friend is someone who will not tell U what 2 do.
  • You can trust them and tell them anything.
  • They tell the truth.
  • You can tell them anything.
  • They are honest.
